Is a static website good enough?

In today's world NO! It is believed that just having an online presence is enough. Having a static website means that you can direct your leads there so that they can check out what's on offer. It means that if someone types in your business name you will come up on a search engine. But these days that is not enough. While these are valid reasons to have a website they are not the ones that are going to make you new leads and bring you new business.
Lets take for example a person who is in the business of selling furniture. They have an online catalog/website that was launched two years ago and hasn't been updated since. The chances of their website coming up in a search engine when someone is searching for Furniture in their local area will be slim to none.
So that's why they need a website that is not static. A website that is dynamic and changes daily is the website that will come up on the first page of search engines provided that close attention has been paid to Meta descriptions and Keywords.
It is possible to change your website from a static to a dynamic site easily, if you like the look of your existing website but would like the power to be able to update yourself every day then Loewen Media Webdesign Galway offers this service for a very reasonable fee.

Updating your website

How often do you need to update your website to maintain optimum efficiency?
The answer is every day. This may stun some people but it's a fact.

Let me explain. You see, web crawlers (computers) working for Google and Yahoo look for fresh content. They run around the world wide web every day searing and looking for something new. Something that was not there the day before. When they find it and it's unique content it get's listed. If your websites content is not new and fresh it will get pushed further down the listings every day. We crawlers search for key words, they are not able to read the normal text that we are ale to read. So we need to add new content and make sure that the key words are automatically added or that we add them manually.
What can you do if updating your website means you need to know HTML, PHP, XML and CSS and you don't know how to do this?
The short answer is that it is going to be time consuming, stressful and expensive.

If you have a simple website you will need to learn html to be able to update it. You could do a course in dream weaver and that will mean that you will have to install some expensive software on your computer. It will take about 6 months to learn the basics. Even then, things can go wrong and you will need to have a back up handy incase you mess up. Most people hire a professional, often the person who built their site, to update it. The going rate is around €100.00 per incident. Often it's difficult to get intouch with your designer and it's sometimes even harder to get them moving on something that you needed done yesterday.

Is there a better solution?
Yes! Loewen Media build a website that allows you to update your website several times a day. It takes about as long as it takes to write and send an email. You can add key words simply and you can ad images and other stuff too like youtube videos, audio, flash so easily. You don't need to do a course and we give you the training. It takes most people around an hour to pick up the basics and be able to update their site themselves. We offer free support for the first thirty days and after that you can pay a subscription for support for only €25.00 per month. Most people don't ever need this type of support.

The bottom line is that if you have paid a lot of money for a website and you are not updating it every day it may as well be in a dark corner because people are not going to find what you sell by searching Google unless they know you are already there.
